shape not size

the biggest mistake is buying something that does not flatter your shape, different plus size women have fat in different areas and one item might look fabulous on one body type but not anther, I have slim legs but my worst mistake is leggins as it make my legs out of proportion to my large upper body.

as long as u r confidnt,no mistake exist

as long as your confident,no mistake can go on....who eva says somthn...im jst who i am and dont really care what anyone says coz i am my own person nd wouldnt change who i am to satisfy them..............

wrong size

The worst mistake to make is to wear the wrong size. Having a well fitting garment makes all the difference, so don't be in denial and try to squeeze into those old, too-tight jeans, you will look much better in a properly fitting, right-sized outfit!

Plus Size Mistakes

How anyone could be comfortable in tight fitting pants is beyond me. Women who wear size 14 jeans and are actually a size 18 need to look in the mirror. You are just pushing the excess above your pants. The 'sauasage' look is not appealing. Buy clothes that fit and don't worry about what the tag says.

Plus-Size Fashion Mistakes

Please, please, please, wear a GOOD BRA! Nothing makes me more upset with full figured women who have ample breasts and their bad bras have them lopsided or down to their knees.

assumptions - agreed!

I agree with FatChick, some ppl on here are like "don't" do blah blah but I think everyone is different. I am an apple but I have little this and that's that make it very hard for me to find stuff that fits right, but I still like fashion and sometimes something "fat taboo" fits me ok cause I'm not built the same as someone else who is heavy. Basically (just my opinion) just don't like inappropriate fashions (ie. bikinis, too short-skirts, too-low shirts) or things that I consider unflattering on ALL people like tube tops.

Leggings

Who wants to see every bump and curve in a pair of leggings?
—Guest Lorraine

belts

Belts/sashes and tucking in shirts. While I don't think you should wear a tent, you shouldn't draw attention to belly fat, either. Just don't do it.
—Guest Jess

wearing clothes that don't fit!

Actually that goes for anyone of any size. too-tight clothes that show every lump and bump are an obvious no-no, but so is wearing things so baggy/shapeless that no one can tell you have a body at all. Start from the inside out - get your bras properly fitted, invest in some decent shapewear and wear things that flatter your body type. Most big women look better in body-skimming clothes, so be picky and take the time to choose things that make you look your best. Above all don't let anyone make you feel ashamed of your size. It's just a number on a label.

plus size fashion mistake

Wearing clothes that are too big and dont compliment their true figure. Remember size is just a number. Also enhance your best asset.

wear what flatters you...

Everyone thinks what looks good on them is the only good thing. Choose a good color first, then find what is appropriate for the occasion (job, church, dates), then proper fitting garments from skin ot. I have serious asthma and (Gasp) do not always wear a bra. If I'm having "issues" with the lungs, a bra gives me the feeling that a rock has landed on my chest. So, before you point and jeer, recall teh famous saying from Dear Abby, MYOB. Cordially, Nehmah

I would think that the worse plus-size fashion mistake is to dress as if you don't care how you look. Accept yourself as you are and wear what makes you feel good about you. People take you at face value. If you value yourself they will value you. Perhaps this is wrong, but it is life. Self-respect and self-acceptance will show as self-confidence. No clothes in the world can make up for not valuing yourself, regardless of your size.

go get em

We sould we cloths that say go get em not run away frm em. No matter your size dress logical. Just cuz u skinny dnt mean we want to see your butt hanging out ur minni skirt n because u big we wanna c ur rolls we r all inperfect bean. Wear fitted tops nt too tight and more flar out pants they make ur tighs look smaller n were dresses n aceserize wit lose belts to give the aparance of small wist but most of all attitude...if u don't think ur a queen no one will belive u no matter what u were

Worst Plus-Size Fashion Mistake Often Ma

The Worst Fashion Mistake I see women make is not accepting their size. One woman who had gained weight denied it by wearing her old clothes - not appealing at all. Try to look at yourself with acceptance and realism. Then dress you as you are. I hate pictures of me or mirrors, but I don't want things hanging out either! You are a good person regardless of your size - dress to flatter that good person.

Plus size teens should dress like teens!

I disagree with —Guest Sierra Done Prints make a person look larger especially when worn on top. I think the worst mistake is when you seen young plus size women wearing granny clothing it looks sad. I am 18 and a size 16-18 and still wear fashionable clothing online stores like dreamdiva, torrid and citychic have great fab plus size clothes that are unique and fashionable and you def wont find them in the plus size granny section of big W! Dress for your shape not size that what I say
