Layaway was how I purchased work wardrob
- I was single, and working in the Loop, Chicago during the 1960's. There was a really nice clothing store with different entries for women and men. Once a year I'd put clothing on layaway, then go back the following paycheck (with a loan from the CU) pay it off and spend the rest of the year paying off the loan. I had an excellent credit rating.
