From the article: Plus-Size New Year's Resolutions
A lot of us love shopping for a specific kind of item, like trousers or work tees. If you could change one thing about plus-size shopping, in terms of selection, of what would you want more availability?
I would love to see more plus career wear, especially jackets. What about you? Share Your Opinion
shopping for wedding dress for plus size
- I am absolutely agreed that shipping for wedding dress can be very stressful. Every women in standard or Plus Size has unique figure and not many of us lucky to have a great proportions like models. Many of our customers choosing break rules of classic one piece wedding dress and using corsets as a top piece that can be easy combine with skirt or pants for great stylish look. I think that underbust corset gives unlimited possibilities to use long sleeve lace or light fabric top of your choice to create great duo and show your personality and style. Recently I wrought a blog Bridal Corsets for Wedding Day where I discussed advantages of Corsets as Alternatives to the Traditional Wedding Dresses with more shopping tips.

How ugly can they make clothes?
- I can't believe how they design plus clothing. Pockets over the "girls", low cut tops, BIG ugly prints, and for some of us 5'5" and less they are to long from shoulder to the bust, shoulders hang way off to the upper arm. And now anywhere you look they are making things out of such thin fabric, you can see thru it even when it's not suppose to show thru. Where were these designer educated? A few years ago you could find nice looking good quality plus size clothing. Not all plus size people are 5'10" or taller and want to show so much skin.

One Thing I would change
- Only one? I'm 5'10 and wear plus clothes. Dresses are always too short, jackets end 3 inches above my wrist, and pants - forget it. This season we're blessed with maxi dresses with Hawaiian prints splattered all over them, sleeveless dresses (what plus size woman wears those?), and the usual collection of t-shirts and jeans. One bright spot - junonia.com has long torso swim suits in plus sizes up to a 6X. Forget the leggings - why do I want my heavy legs emphasized? In my area, Macy's has the best selection of plus size clothes. What I wouldn't give for a nice tailored suit that actually fit.

Who designs these clothes?!?!
- I'm really tired of purchasing clothes that are built for 5'2" women and trying to stretch them over a 5'9" frame! The torsos, sleeves AND legs are too short! Not to mention, so many of the styles are simply slinky clothes with ridiculous patterns cut a few inches wider than the size-2-model clothes. C'mon, designers, it IS possible to make beautiful clothes for regular women (i.e., plus-size!). It is a potentially profitable market and we would like to have access to pretty, flattering clothes that fit properly!

pants!!!
- Plus size pants are all made for women with large buttts. I am a plus size but have never had a big butt. why can't there be a choice in full figured clothing for slim or full butts???

HUH?
- I HAVE SEARCHED FROM CALIFORNIA TO MAINE; ALASKA TO FLORIDA, IRELAND, MEXICO AND MORE FOR A BATHING SUIT SUITABLE TO A PLUS SIZE WOMAN OF 68 WIH A 42DDD BUST. I HAVE A CONCEPT IN MIND..LONG TORSO SWIMSUIT WITH A TANK COVERUP DOWN TO THE END OF THE PANTY. MANUFACTURERS PLEASE KNOW THAT WE LARGE WOMEN COME IN TWO SHAPES.....APPLE AND PEAR. I AM AN APPLE; A SWIMMER, NOT A MODEL. I WANT TO BE COVERED UP AND DO NOT WANT TO WEAR REVEALING SWIMSUITS. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO WEAR A SWIMSUIT THAT IS RESPECTABLE AND FITTING FOR OUR AGE AND BUILD.....IT IS CALLED CAMOFLOUGE. SOMEBODY OUT THERE MUST LISTEN TO US....WE HAVE THE MONEY TO SPEND. PLEASE GIVE US CONSIDERATION.

i want classy well made clothes
- i want real designer clothes , not the cheap crap they try and sell you Even in a store like Nordstrom's the plus size clothes do not have the quality and style represented in the rest of the store.

Petites clothes that are ALSO PLUS SIZES
- I would love to get petite sizes larger than size 16! It's torture to have to get my clothes hemmed & tailored so I don't look so sloppy & dowdy in the clothes that are made for women who are so much taller than I am (I'm 5'1")

Plus-Size does not equal maternity!!
- When department stores put plus-size and maternity wear in the same section, it makes me want to scream! Target is one of the biggest culprits. I love Target to death, and I shop there for 95% of my needs. But then I stop to look at clothes and I am infuriated that the maternity and plus-size clothing racks are ALWAYS mixed together. It's a completely degrading and a few times I've accidentally ended up with a maternity piece in the dressing room. Embarrassing to say the least. Also, there is often a bigger selection of cuter clothes for maternity than for plus size! I agree with the other comment that plus-size clothing should just be added in with the other sizes and only maternity should be separated.

bibliogmom
- Why doesn't anyone listen to us. I would like to see misses styles and fabric choices translated to plus sizes. Vertical striped broadcloth shirts, cotton people, not poly, cotton knits, structured clothing that skims the body. Help please

Oh where to start with this!
- Not all plus size women have a pair of girls to display! It seems that all designers think we are triple D's and 5 foot 2! So after spending an arm and leg on clothes that might fit me, I have to haul them down to get altered to make them fit me in all the right places. Also a wider selection! Even a "plus size" store has a limited selection.

Young yet Classy Plus Size
- Second to the previous comment, I am pretty much fed up with all the ugly prints and horizontal strips, frumpy styles you can find in the mall. Finding something nice & classy for a young plus girl is harder than finding a needle in a hay stack. That's why I am opening a store that is dedicated to young yet sophisticated styles for plus girls. www.truecolourvenus.com

stop making everything sleevless
- A plus size woman does NOT want to wear sleevless clothing! I have been trying to find a dress for a wedding but everything is sleevless or cap sleeves! I don't want frumpy clothing but don't designers realize that a woman that is a size 16 can't wear cap or sleevles dresses? I feel that designers are always punishing us in by their lack of vision for anyone over a size 12. Also, in general if you notice that even casual clothing over a size 12 has horrible patterns. Why does a shirt for a plus size woman have to have such silly designs like strawberries & flowers on it? They show us no respect or dignity!

shapeless, sleeveless sacks
- why are plus size shops full of shapeless, sleeveless sacks? even a big hour glass lady would look like a frump in those, also leggins, they really do not suit big ladies at all. We need stylish, fitted but not tight clothing that is coll and comfortable and has sleeves, what is a big armed girl like me supposed to wear to keep cool in summer? sleeves would be nice.
