Plus-Size Etsy Finds - December, Part I

Vintage Plus-Size Picks

By , About.com Guide

Got a hankering for more vintage? I deliver here, with another batch of vintage coolness just for the picking. You'll find a ton of things to like in this batch, with more '80s picks than usual, plus the fun stuff like pink, floral, and plaid.

1. Vintage Floral Dress

This dress is way '70s and super-fun, and it's the kind of dress that can be easily layered with a sweater in the winter (plus tights!) for extra warmth. This belted dress in blue, purple, and white features a notch collar, white piping, and large sleeves, plus the perfect knee-length to still suit taller gals. I wouldn't mind seeing it with a funky cropped jacket or dove grey boots, either.

2. '80s Plaid Skirt Set

Do you love looking at those old pictures of Princess Diana wearing her suits and matchy-matchy stuff? This suit set from the '80s features a long skirt and a highly tailored blouse with a matching belt. The sleeves are elbow-length, the collar isn't too big, and the belt is made for cinching away. Take a look and see if you like it!

3. Green Pleated Dress with Belt

Pleats, pleats, pleats! This dress is every wild dresser's dream, with sharp pleats below a simple elasticized waist and some sweet piping. With an almost Grecian flavor, this dress will glide over curves without revealing too much. It also looks like one of those dresses that's as comfortable as a robe or as pajamas, but nobody knows it. The belt is included with your purchase.

4. Vested Plus-Size Dress

This easy-wear set reminds me of one of Mary Tyler Moore's work ensembles on her show! This dress comes with a vest and a matching belt that can be mixed and matched to create several outfits. Simple and versatile, it's great for early '80s lovers and adventurous dressers. I'm not sure if I can imagine this in a business casual setting, but it definitely is an interesting thought. Try this dress with a white purse come spring. At just $14, the price is totally right, too.

5. Paisley Shift for Work or Play

This dress has fine construction and could definitely be worn to work. With a sweet shirt collar, an off-center zip closure, and long sleeves, it's the perfect selection for those who want a vintage piece that isn't costume-like. It's an easy-care poly blend, perfect for busy professionals, and it even has a little bit of stretch to add to your comfort. Lucky you, you even get the original belt!

6. Nautical Dress in Blue and White

Two things I can't get enough of: stripes and comfort! This vintage nautical dress has white and blue horizontal stripes and red piping accents, and it is soft and stretchy, too. It's a great at-home layering piece if you are feeling daring, and if you aren't? You should still look twice at this affordable and very, very cute little dress. My guess is that it's '80s, but it has an early '90s vibe as well.

7. '80s Pink Dress

This super-soft cotton-blended pink dress has a full skirt, short sleeves, and an empire waist, and it is in very good condition. With minimal signs of wear, this pink dress could accommodate both the plus-sized and the woman looking for a maternity pick. This dress is sized somewhere between an L-XXL, and it is more spacious in the hips, too. I'd like to see this with a kitted vest, or perhaps with a long rope of interesting necklaces and bangles. Or booties! As you can see, you'll have plenty of styling options.
