November Etsy Picks, Part II

Getting Your Shop On Again

By , About.com Guide

This plus-size batch of cool finds should strike your fancy this November! After an Etsy break in October, I picked a bunch of nice dresses and skirt for plus teens. I think that a lot of these pieces have a special youthful vibe that will really appeal to the younger set, and I hope that you agree. Don't forget that some of these pieces are collectible and are an even better buy than you might think at first.

1. 1950s Inspired Pin-Up Gingham Dress, $80

(Custom sizes) If you don't like to wear vintage clothes, consider a 1950s-inspired dress with a cute full skirt, a flattering bodice, and the option of making it in black and navy. You can get the dress made with little cap sleeves for work. It will be made in under 30 days and shipped from New Zealand.

2. 1950s Pin-Up Wiggle Dress, $68

(46-38-50) This bright dress can totally work for a younger shopper, and it will look stunning with low sandals and a sweet little bag. This dress has a cummerband waist just right for cinching; it is fully lined and in great condition. The loose top is an amazing look that we don't see often on modern pieces.

3. Black Floral Pleated Dress, $30

(40-38-40) This Etsy dress is fresh, sweet, and just what would look nice with a little shrug, a sweater, or a cool cropped trench. You can add vintage jewels, as suggested by the seller, or possibly a cute kerchief. No matter what you choose, give it a little kick with sweet accessories.

4. Twisted Cranberry Dress, $65

(48-40-47) What a nice color for the holidays -- although this dress isn't on sale like the rest of the great picks in threadoverheels' shop. This is a sweet Thanksgiving choice and something that's perfectly appropriate to wear on a date night as well. The high neck makes the dress look a little more formal, and it can be more cozy as well.

5. Summer Garden Vintage Dress, $55 - SOLD

(48-40-47) A bright dress from Etsy can still work in the winter, particularly for a teen. 100% woven cotton is comfortable and easy-care, and you'll find that it can look much more season-appropriate with a dark sweater, a fitted jacket, or a sweet cloak. It has been professionally cleaned, too, which saves you money.

6. Vintage 1950s Bombshell Dress, $185

(48-36-48) Bam! This wiggle dress in a rich brown has a matching bolero, which makes the price a little more doable. The dress has a v-cut collar with a bowtie detail and two side pockets. The condition is excellent, and this dress features piping to add a touch of high-class detail.

7. 1940s Sheer Dress, $118

(44-35-52) What an interesting dress. Day dresses such as these are hot finds in the vintage world, and the layering possibilities are endless. It's even harder finding a dress like this in good condition, which is why this is an even better find. It zips up the side with a metal zipper and is in excellent condition.

8. 1960s Bold Green Dress, $50

(43-40-44) This dress isn't for the shy. A bright green with attitude to spare, it's in pristine condition and it can brighten up a dreary Monday in a flash. While green isn't for everyone, if it's your color, then you should seriously consider scooping up this dress. Notable features include the original color and deep placket.
