I had a chance to speak with Sue Perryman, Evans London's eCommerce Creative Director, and she let me in on the newest things available for the season. Get ready to shop away after reading up.
Q: What's new this season? Some top pieces?
A: We've got a whole new footwear range with new boots and shoes. We've got a story right now with lots of embellishment, and out of that, we'd say that the peach kimono [part of the 'Folk Tales' line] is so flattering, and it's really versatile. Italian wool coats are another as well, and lingerie sets and the bra and pants sets.
Q: For people who are new to Evans London, what makes it stand out amongst competitors?
A: We're all about fit. We fit on
Q: How are asymmetrical styles flattering for plus women?
A: I think because it's a fashion feature this season [...] we know that people are interested in it. You can wear it with tights, leggings, or jeans. It's very flattering, and it's very beautiful.
Q: What waistcoats/vests do you have available right now?
A: We did feature a longer one in the autumn, and right now, the one that is selling is the satin waistcoat with satin trousers—very going out! We also have a satin high-waisted skirt, which is featured in the catwalk section.
Q: What current trends are addressed in your seasonal partywear?
A: “Winter romance” is the biggest trend, with velvet, fur, lace, a bit of sparkle, and a bit of embellishment. In addition, we also have tops and t-shirts [...] with sparkles and beads.
Q: Is there a must-have dress that you would recommend for the holidays?
A: The Peach Kimono Dress. It is a layered look with a slip underneath. It's tied underneath the bust for that empire waist. The kimono sleeves drape really well. It's still a length that's really flattering and sexy.
Q: What shoe styles would you recommend with partywear pieces?
A: There is a great line of patent boots. Try the ankle boots with black leggings and black opaque tights, which looks gorgeous and up-to-the-minute. We also have a pink satin clutch bag and pink sandals.
Q: Why is Evans London a good budget-friendly choice?
A: What we represent, when you talk about budgets, is value for money. We're not wholly expensive, but you do get more. You're going to get a great fit and something really special.
Q: What's coming up next?
A: For spring, we're going to have big occasion dresses, really beautiful pieces, lots of embellishment and timeless pieces. We're going to be doing a purple-blue color in the kimono dress as well.
