It's not unusual to feel intimidated by leggings or tights with a control panel or an all-over control look. When you pull them out of the package, they look absolutely tiny, and that can be scary. I was pleased to see that Bali's "Invisibles" Firm Control Leggings didn't look like kid's clothes when I first took them out.

Overall Construction

While these are called leggings, they aren't the type that you'd wear on their own. This Bali item is like opaque footless tights, with a cotton-lined gusset. Upon first glance, you can see that these leggings have intuitive banding on the waistband and along the ankles. While opaque tights can and do unravel easily at the ankle band, these leggings feature a tiny turn-up with industrial seaming.

Sizing

The Bali Invisibles Leggings are available up to size XXL. I wear a size 14/16 and can wear a size L in the Bali leggings, so that means many full-figured women will be able to wear Bali leggings for their slimming capabilities. Speaking of...

Slimming Capabilities

The interesting part about Bali leggings' control is the overall slimming capability without the sensation of being "held in." It's more like the leggings protect against shock, almost like an athletic garment, but there are additional functional design details along the stomach that mold it into a flatter, firmer shape. It's said that there is "extra ribbing" on the tummy area to aid control, but I couldn't see it--just feel some extra help!

Affordability

Like many products sold by HanesBrands, the Bali leggings are available in a two-pack. While some people might prefer to buy their leggings in single pairs, keep in mind that having a dual pack will save you from dirty laundry and/or packing panic. Since these leggings are machine washable, you'll also find that they get more wear instead of hanging around in the hand-washing pile for a week. MSRP is in the mid-30s.
