I recently had the opportunity to review a new line of bras by Bali, and I wanted to tell you about the fit--especially since one of them arrived without underwire! As a woman with a 38/40 DD-E cup, I haven't worn a bra sans underwire since junior high. Here's what I thought of Style 3232 from the new Comfort U-Back line.
First Things First... Comfort
Since these bra styles were supposed to provide more comfort than my usual bras--probably a harder feat that originally thought, because I usually wear other Bali styles or high-quality Pour Moi--I wanted to take note of that first. The general feeling of comfort is heightened when sitting at a desk, because you don't feel that pinch of underwire when you bend or slouch a little.
But Does It Support?
U-back bras provide a high level of support for bras sans wire, and a medium-high level when compared to bras that feature wire. One thing I noticed as the day went on was that the bra seemed to "mold" to my shape and provide more support.
Sizing and Fitting Tips
The cups on the Wire-Free U-Back are more generous and soft than other bras, which means that you don't need to size up a number like we sometimes do with tighter-fitting bras. I usually wear a 38DD, but a couple of the push-ups I recently got from another company were a tad too snug. Order your actual size with Bali, because there are no fit surprises.
Quality
The U-Back bra is constructed and lined in a high-quality material with a smooth hand, but with a firmer-than-average feel when stretched. The U-Back is a high-quality option that feels silky, and there is some lace on it so you don't feel as though you are wearing a bandage or a full-figured monstrosity. It is tasteful and attractive, with a generous back closure to support.
I gave the Bali Comfort U-Back a five-star score because it's the only wire-free bra I will ever wear. The fit is great and it supports well, so there's no reason to look further. This is a great work bra, especially if you sit at a desk, but you will also find it excellent for weekend comfort (like for lounging on the couch).
