We're all up to speed on my excitement about Simply Be's arrival in the United States, and to kick things off, I asked Simply Be a variety of questions about what they have to offer. Q: A lot of readers are excited to learn more about Simply Be. What's new?
Simply Be: Lots! As a retailer who aims to be at the cutting edge of plus-size fashion, we're constantly evolving our range and adding exciting new brands.
Our biggest news, of course, is that we’re launching a US site and catalogue, bringing the best of British plus-size apparel to America. The much-anticipated site will launch at www.simplybe.com this summer, so we’ve all been very busy getting everything ready in order to give our US shoppers the best experience possible.
Style-wise, our limited edition ‘New In’ collections continue to be a huge success. We take catwalk looks and make them work for curvy girls in UK sizes 14-32 [US 10-28]. Around six of these micro-collections are released per season, keeping our range fresh and up to the minute. Favorites from spring have included the Alice-inspired ‘Wonderland’ collection and the gorgeous jungly colours of ‘Hot Tropic’. Each ‘Get the Look’ outfit is also filmed in action on a runway model so that shoppers can see each item come to life.
Q: What's super hot right now on Simply Be? What trends are you highlighting from the season in your catalogue?
Simply Be: Boyfriend shirts continue to do well – they’re just so easy to wear and look great with this season’s jeggings. Floral dresses are really big too, with everybody getting in the spirit for summer! Our peacock print maxi [...] is selling out fast.
Regarding trends, our brand-new Frock & Frill range covers both the nautical look, with cute navy bow trim tops, and the neutrals trend, with a fabulous ivory crochet trim dress. Simply Be aims to cover all the latest looks so that [...] fashionistas can stay on top of the trends. We have a huge choice of maxi dresses, and must-haves including bodysuits, slash leggings, playsuits, harem pants, bodysuits and jeggings, all in UK sizes 14-32 [US 10-28].
Q: A lot of us have limited or restricted budgets. How can we save money and still shop at Simply Be?
Simply Be: If you’re looking for a bargain, then our end-of-season sale is the time to do it. Popular pieces do sell out, though, so if you’ve got your heart set on something, it’s best to snap it up early!
Q: What can you tell us about the new SimplyBe.com site? What labels will we be able to get here in the States that we can't purchase or find easily?
Simply Be: The SimplyBe.com site will launch in July with a little taster of our summer range to whet your appetites. US shoppers won’t have long to wait for a bigger choice though, since the full autumn collection launches in August. The site’s designed so that shoppers on a mission can find exactly what they’re looking for easily, either by an on-site search or by filtering by size, colour and price. For those simply seeking inspiration there’ll be lots of fashion features giving you easy outfit ideas and trend tips.
As well as the latest plus-size fashion, SimplyBe.com will offer lingerie in bigger sizes, with selected bras available up to Q cup and 56 back, plus all the latest shoe shapes in a choice of wider fittings. You’ll also find plus-size nightwear, swimwear, and sports apparel - and accessories.
