1. Safari Looks

Safari Looks are going to reign supreme, and I'm so, so excited that they are: the tailoring makes you look super-trim, the cut is usually impeccable and not at all sloppy, and you can find them in a variety of lengths like above-the-waist vests all the way to barely above-the-knee tunics. Choose any dusty color like tan, stone, grey, or olive.
2. Bright Colors

As frightening as these jeans are, they are a trendy solution for trousers this season. If skinny jeans (much less colored) have got you down, just remember that choosing a bright blue pair is the way to go.
3. The African and "Ethnic"

Designs that look like they've been ripped straight out of your vacationing suitcase are where we're at this summer! I'm soaking up all the time that I can to pull off beautifully decorated, marvelously adorned pieces that more or less rock my world. Delicious.
4. Fancy Frocks

Dresses are one of my favorite summertime indulgences, and hopefully they'll be one of yours, too. This dress from Missphit, which I also featured on the blog because I am in love with it.
In reality, this piece covers two trends, the "Volume" summer trend as well as the "Decoration" one. The bodice of this dress is encrusted with sequins-- wow.

Decorated, or embellished, pieces are also very hot for summer. While I'm very partial to this jewel-encrusted, casual long-sleeved shirt from SWAK Designs, you can also find lots of tops and skirts embroidery, cutwork, or even fringe if you dare.
6. Le Jardin

A patchwork top in a ditsy flower print has never looked so good. This piece from Missphit is totally on trend and utterly gorgeous.
