Some plus-size women are ready missing out on some possibilities for accessorization. You've probably got a routine down on what fits, what looks good, and what you need to improve on, but perhaps it's time to really try something new.
1. Scarves
One of my best finds was a book from the '80s that illustrated 40 ways to tie a scarf. While a tightly-tied neckerchief isn't our fave look, consider a light, loosely-looped scarf as a way to highlight your ensemble and add a little softness to a plain tee.2. Brooches
Whenever I'm at an event that's populated with plus-sized ladies, I never see anyone wearing brooches. Regardless of trend cycles, these are viable options for women who don't want to highlight their necks with necklaces, and prefer to draw attention to another area-- tasteful cleavage! Brooches don't need to be old-fashioned, either. All you need to do is hop on Etsy to find funky versions.3. Pearl Earrings
Simple, elegant, and more refined than diamonds, I think we need to bring back the pearl in a big way. Since so many of us are complemented on our "beautiful faces," why not highlight our features with something that never goes out of style? If you can't beat 'em. . .4. Chunky Watches
It's time to make our wrists look even smaller with a wider-than-normal wristband. It doesn't need to be newfangled or overly giant, but having a watch on the bigger side could make your wrist look a lot smaller in comparison. I also like watches with "statement" or "fashion" faces.5. Charm Bracelets
With a few well-chosen charms, these bracelets add a retro vibe. Think found treasure, not juvenile bits-n-bobs, and you've got a winner. Some plus women tend to try to fade into the background, but if you try to add interest to your look with accessories, you can stick to your tried-and-true styles without feeling boring.
