Bali Fabulous-U, Day 2: The Wirefree Bra

Do you wear bras that don't have underwire? As a larger lady, I'm petrified of bras that don't have much underwire and structure. After all, I double my sports bras and only wear halter-top bikinis, so I don't usually do bras sans wires.

But when you test samples, well... you'll test away! I like to think of myself as adventurous, so I tested several wirefree versions of the Bali Comfort-U styles as a part of the Fabulous-U Challenge. As you might recall, I had another encounter during the spring. These designs were slightly different (one had fuller coverage), but the experience was surprising.

These bras must have some sort of special stitching inside to keep them molded to one's frame. They are elegant-looking, not matronly but classic and no-nonsense. The cups are full-coverage, but dip just low enough on the front so that one can still wear a tank top, and the straps are wide enough but not padded up.

I noticed no "bounce factor" whatsoever, and the bras are more comfortable than an underwire bra. It's nice not to have the rigid line right underneath the breasts, especially when you're typing on the computer or driving a car. The only thing I wish--and this might be TMI--is that I saw more uplift in the nipple area, right in the front part of the cup. I noticed that I was getting a slight downward turn only apparent in tight tanks. I'm not sure if there's a solution for this, because the bras are not padded, but sticklers for uplift might want to try a bra with firm support and padding.

I found the bras available at JCPenney up to 42DD. Tell me, do you wear bras without underwire?

Enell Sports Bras are designed specifically for larger busted women and they are wire free. They also elminate the need to wear 2 sports bras as they offer enough support on their own. On sale here: http://www.onesweetone.com

I love Enell bras! I have one; my only complaint is that it’s fairly ugly. :(

I am a no-wire female. I have yet to find one where the wire does not work it’s way under one of my ribs. That hurts. Nehmah
