This is a little more progressive in the way of plus-size design, but it's a step in a seriously much-needed direction. A genius reader here at About Plus-Size gave me a tip to check out Carmakoma, and I'm debating on whether or not it was the best find of the year. Very possibly.
Danish designers Weiss and Lykke are based in Copenhagen and specialize in 14+ designs, and it doesn't take more than a quick peek to realize that they are doing something right. Their long sweat dress has leg-of-mutton sleeves, their sweaters have button backs, and their coats are simply to die. If you're into modern, European, sleek looks, this is a major must.

I also am a fan of Carmakoma but I don’t think they ship to the U.S cause I have tried to purchase in the past and it didn’t work. does anyone know if that has changed?
They ship worldwide.
I thought they did because they convert to USD in their shop, but I’ll have to double-check.
wow. great styling, beautiful cuts, unique pieces, gorgeous plus models, great photography. very, very impressed! too bad they aren’t in the US!

Their clothes are so stylish and although they do a lot of dark colors (which some believe plus size women flock to for obvious reasons) the cuts and fabrics are so mod that you can dress the pieces up and down with brighter color accessories.
I am always on the look out for something different and I hate seeing replicas of me on the streets. And with the plus size gal community growing in numbers, its important to stay as individual as possible. Carmakoma helps us do just that!
