Your Opinion on Chloe Marshall, Potential Miss England

Tuesday April 1, 2008

The potential Miss England: she's tall and brunette, with a gorgeous smile. But is she Miss England material? That's the current debate: this plus-size contender is a size 16 (is that a 14 US, then?) and she's stirring up debate on whether or not she "deserves" to be crowned Miss England. I'm probably one of her biggest fans, because she may be young, but her solid positive outlook on her body image and how it's perceived is just fantastic to read about and makes for awesome debates.

Peruse the article I read from The Daily Mail, and as my friend Michele Weston pointed out-- read the comments, too!

I think Chloe is great. I hope she wins the beauty contest and goes onto Miss Universe. Some of those comments about her figure are pretty bad; people thinks she should not compete because they don’t want children to get a bad impression that being fat is not to live work for or live with. She is 17 years-old and size 16, in US a 14. Win it Chloe!!

This is a common example of how hypocritical we are. We strive not to get people to be anorexic or bulimic but the first chance we get we down the person that has the average women’s size. We are confusing our youth. Which is it? Would it be better if you could see her ribs? What then? Would we tell her she needs to gain weight?

Absolutely. If that sounds like a confusing message to me, it positively scary to imagine it through a 16-year-old’s perspective.

The comments above are right on! I also left a comments on the Daily Mirror. If we look at sex symbols of yesterday like Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren, they really weren’t that much smaller than Miss Chloe. But we are so used to the overly long lanky females with huge implants in mags, that we seem to view that as ‘normal” now. Alot of men in particularly would not hesitate to date Miss Chloe if society didn’t pressure on them into believing what’s attractive and what’s not and whom to be seem with.
Great love and blessings to you Chloe!

she’s beautiful. I wish I had her body. I mean, yeah. it’s a little big. And I’m really used to these perfect slim hourglass, but seriously. Her body is not bad. It’s a whole lot better then mine. I’m a spoon/pear and i’d just love to have a hourglass body.
