So... Who Inspires You?

I have really enjoyed all of our stimulating dialogue on Kim Kardashian. I love what you guys have been saying, and as always, I love your feedback on who inspires you, what you expect from a plus-sized style icon, and more. It's great to have members of our community who lend their opinions when they are needed.
I'm truly interested in building a full-figured style section for us here, and I'm going to create folders for some of your favorite stylish people. I adore Beth Ditto, pictured, who's a member of American band Gossip and who has quite the look going on. Now, I'd like to ask who inspires you, style-wise?

This is my first visit to your site and I have to say thank you. There are not many places for curvy women to access information on how to dress fashionably for our body types. Though my shape seems harder to match to any one type I still appreciate the info. My style icon is most definately Mo’nique, whenever I start getting down on myself and feeling bad I rent her movie “Phat Girlz” and by the end I am loving my luciousness. To me she always looks stunning and very sexy. I am Italian and grew up in a very large family that are all naturally slim, the women are pettit with curvy little figures. I have stuck out most of my life being 5′10 and very “thick”. Seeing Mo’niques forward movements for the positive recognition of the full figured REAL woman make her not only my icon but one of my heros as well.

Like Jeanette my plus size style icon is Mo’nique she is so empowering and she is proof that sexy is not a size 6 even if People Magazine continuely looks over her when they publish there 50 Beautiful People. I have always wanted to raid Kirstie Allie’s wardrobe since the beginning of Cheers. Since then, her size has changed many times (who here can’t relate to that one?)but she always looks great. She really knows how to dress for her size and never looks sloppy (unless the paps get her in an unflattering pose). Now there is a curvy style icon, in my opinion!
Kirstie Alley has a regal face and a commanding figure, but I’ve always felt that she doesn’t accept her natural shape. What do you think?
I think the Kardashian women look like hos. They all wear way too much makeup. They need to take some of that crap off their faces and look like normal people. They all look like hookers or hoochie mamas. UCK
